INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT INDUSTRIES FOUNDATION INC. (IDIFI PHILIPPINES) was founded by a diverse group of leaders united by a shared commitment to serve rural communities and Indigenous peoples across the Philippines. Our founders and co-founders come from backgrounds in community development, agriculture, education, social work, and faith-based service. Many of them grew up in the countryside or within Indigenous communities themselves, giving them a deep understanding of the daily struggles faced by families in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. They witnessed first-hand the impact of poverty, lack of access to basic services, and the loss of ancestral lands and cultural identity. Instead of turning away, they chose to respond with compassion, courage, and long-term vision. Together, they established IDIFI PHILIPPINES as a humanitarian foundation focused on:• Empowering local leaders through training and mentorship• Supporting sustainable agriculture and food security• Protecting Indigenous rights and cultural heritage• Promoting marine and environmental conservation• Helping families transition to stable, dignified livelihoods Over the years, our founders and co-founders have built strong partnerships with barangays, people’s organizations, Indigenous councils, and local institutions. Their leadership has helped train over 1,200 local leaders and support more than 500 families in building sustainable, self-reliant futures.Today, they continue to guide the foundation with humility and integrity—ensuring that every program remains rooted in the real needs, voices, and dreams of the communities we serve.
